Rob discusses the only photo shoot that occurred in 2020... and some of the challenges that went along with it.
The Make Them Awesome team recently did a new photo set with some characters from the Fate/Grand Order universe. There was a lot of things we had planned out for this set… but we also had to deal with a bunch of unforeseen circumstances as well.
Rob likes to do quite a bit of photo experimenting at home to see if some ideas come about. But it's not quite the same as doing so in a studio with someone else in front of the camera. Tacocat, Luis, and Rob went to the studio try out some ideas... and shoot a new version of Chibi Moon!
We usually do a lot of planning before we go out to take photos. This was not one of those times. :)
We went out to shoot Frozen Fever Anna and Elsa… plus we got to try out some new gear!
So what happens when we get a bunch of random costumes and wigs from Miccostumes? And only one person in the group knows what they are? We go book some studio time to photograph and video how everything came out!
Our first project of 2019 and we tackled a number of new things. First: some brand new costumes of Bowsette and Boosette based off of Hannah Alexander’s work, and Chompette from ANN4RT. Second: we tried some light painting with the PixelStick!
Of course we had to go Plus Extra for Halloween. This time with some new takes on Honoka, Kotori, and Eli from Love Live!
We had a great time working with Rebecca of Twin Thrones Cosplay as Odette from Swan Princess for this set. Even if there were some challenges on how we had to do things.
As part of our preparations for Classic Game Fest we shot some brand new material. This time around with Mermaid Child as Star Guardian Ahri and Tacocat Cosplay as Star Guardian Syndra from League of Legends.
As part of our work to prepare for Classic Game Fest we did a shoot of some characters we know and love: Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Galaxia, and Super Sailor Venus.
Some brand new characters for us… this time from My Hero Academia! And this time around we had our friend Sonia Blade join us for a night shoot in downtown Austin.
So with spring in the air in Texas it was a good time to get outside and do some shooting. We spent our Easter Sunday at the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Antonio shooting Nozomi, Honoka, and Eli from Love Live!
That moment when a random Sailor Moon reference image leads to a Valentine’s Day themed photo shoot. A cute set with Allybelle, Mermaid Child, Tacocat, and SailorGeekette!
I always love finding new people to work with... especially those who are also into one of my favorite anime series: Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Miad. I met Cezahn Cosplay at San Japan earlier this year and we've been bouncing idea back and forth for a bit now. This was the first one we were able to bring people together for a shoot and everyone loves how the pics came out.
Take characters from one of my favorite anime series and put them in a Christmas setting... because why not? Once again I teamed up with Mermaid Child (dressed as Honoka Kousaka), Taco's Treasures (as Kotori Minami), and Allybelle Cosplay (as Eli Ayase).
Allybelle and Rob had been working for a while to put this one together and we were finally able to pull it off. Tacocat Cosplay knew of a place that could work well for this version of Zelda and it was perfect. There were spots that worked so well with the setting sun and made for some amazing pictures.
This was a cute idea... Sailor Venus, Sailor Moon, and Sailor Chibi Moon as scarecrows. I love fun mix-ups like this. Allybelle Cosplay as Sailor Venus, Tacocat Cosplay as Sailor Chibi Moon, and Mermaid Child (who also did all of the makeup!) as Sailor Moon.
